Partnership Among Vaisnava Sampradayas

June 26, 2011 |

You have made frequent contacts with acaryas of various Vaisnava sampradayas. I feel very inspired by your preaching in this area. Gaura Keshava Prabhu (a disciple of Prabhupada, who has a home at Sri Rangam) mentioned to me: "Before coming to the West, he (Srila Prabhupada) wrote to Visvambhara Goswami(his friend, Radha Ramana Temple Goswami and former Vrndavan mayor) that he wanted to start an organization wherein Vaisnavas from all sampradayas could cooperate to push on Krsna consciousness.Of course ultimately ISKCON was born out of this desire. We do not know exactly how inclusive or exclusive of other types of Vaisnavas and their philosophies and traditions ISKCON will eventual become."

I wanted to know if you envisage any form of strategic partnership among all the Vaisnava sampradayas, since at present, we just have issue-specific or individual-level contacts.

Question:

Why is it that the cultural convention is for men to renounce and women to marry but the cultural code that it is best to renounce?

I would like to know which section of our society repels the renunciation of women in your opinion and why. Is it that the grhasta men want to keep their enjoyment guaranteed in convention?

I personally don't see how marrying can benefit anyone in this world but simply create more attachment to bags of bone and flesh. should we not be satisfying each other’s solitude in brahmacarya?

Did the Jiva Fall from the Spiritual World?

August 30, 2016 |

Question: A.) What is meant by acala? Some say that it means that the jiva is immovable in the body. Others say that it means that the jiva never leaves the spiritual world. B.) Does the jiva actually fall down into the material world or he remains in the spiritual one? Is he mechanically moved or it is just an illusion? i.) I cannot understand how the jiva is simultaneously situated both in the material and spiritual worlds. ii.) If in the material world the jiva turns away from Krsna, what does he do in the spiritual world at the same time? iii.) What does it mean that the jiva does not fall if he really falls down?… Expand>

Question:

Regading jiva's fall into this material world. Srila Prabhupada talks a lot about the fall. One devotee discovered a transcribed lecture of Srila Prabhupada on Srimad Bhagavatam 2.9.1 delivered in Tokio on April 22nd, 1972 (https://old.prabhupadavani.org/main/Bhagavatam/325.html ) in which he says that the jiva does not fall down. The devotee suggested that the jiva remains in the spiritual world but his consciousness is placed into the material world (as in a dream when one is asleep and is dreaming about visiting different countries and performing various activities). He supports his statement by citing BG in which it is said that the jiva is immovable (acala). Thus, he says it is situated in the spiritual world. So my questions are:

A.) What is meant by acala? Some say that it means that the jiva is immovable in the body. Others say that it means that the jiva never leaves the spiritual world.

B.) Does the jiva actually fall down into the material world or he remains in the spiritual world? Is he mechanically moved or it is just an illusion?

i.) I cannot understand how the jiva is simultaneously situated both in the material and spiritual worlds.
ii.) If in the material world the jiva turns away from Krsna, what does he do in the spiritual world at the same time?
iii.) What does it mean that the jiva does not fall if he really falls down?

Velukkudi Krishnan is now speaking in the televisions also. Sorry say even the brahmin initiated devotees also hear his teachings including those who know English so please kindly guide us what to do. You know that people those who don't want to change themselves will never going to change but at least the innocent people may know what to do.
