Question: In Sri Bhaktisiddhanta Vaibhava, volume 3 – Genuine and False Gaura Bhajana, Page 81, Srila Sarasvati Thakura makes a point that namacarya free from namapradha and namabhasa can give the Holy Name. And further that one should take shelter of a "pure namacarya". How does this apply in today's context within ISKCON, how does one know who is a namacarya to receive the Holy name from or approach for shelter?

Question: How can we attain Krishna consciousness if our health deteriorates very badly?… Expand>
How can we attain Krishna consciousness if our health deteriorates very badly?
Answer by HH Bhakti Vikāsa Swami:
It may be difficult if one’s health is very bad over a long period of time to perform sādhana bhakti, which… It requires some level of health and clear-mindedness. So, it may be very difficult, but if we do get in that condition anyway we should pray to Kṛṣṇa to help us [do] the best we can. And if we are sincere, Kṛṣṇa will appreciate our prayers. Ultimately, Kṛṣṇa consciousness transcends all conditions, but in our present condition it may be very difficult for us to appreciate that. But nevertheless, in whatever state of health, if we try to associate with the devotees, chant the holy names of Kṛṣṇa, study Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books as best as we can, then Śrīla Prabhupāda will help us. And that’s all for now, because all of you are going on harināma saṅkīrtana on the beach to benefit all of conditioned souls. That is the ultimate solution —
Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Hare Hare/Hare Rāma Hare Rāma Rāma Rāma Hare Hare.
Nāca, gāo, bhakta-saṅge kara saṅkīrtana/kṛṣṇa-nāma upadeśi’ tāra’ sarva-jana:
dance, sing and perform congregational chanting of the holy name of Kṛṣṇa in the association of devotees, and, by instructing the holy name to others, deliver all the people. So, that’s the ultimate solution. Otherwise, the material world, especially in Kali-yuga is very, very difficult, getting more and more confused day by day. Chant the holy names. Hare Kṛṣṇa.
All right, we’ll finish there for now. All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda!^ Show less

Question: In Rigveda(RV 7.59.12) is given the Mahamrtyunjaya mantra which states that Lord Siva can award liberation just as a gardener frees a ripened cucumber from its creeper. However Srila Prabhupada in Bhagavad-Gita As It Is very clearly states that Lord Siva is under the influence of maya so it is not possible for him to release the conditioned soul from the clutches of maya (Chap 7 Verse 15 purport). How can this be reconciled?

Like my previous mail regarding entering temple during period, this also I have heard from wife. And she says as others are putting 13 tilakas, so she is.
In any of Krishna lila or Chaitanya lila pictures, it is visible on forehead of any female character like Yashoda mataji or gopis, but it is not visible on their necks or hands.
Also up till before last 2-3 years, I did not see or hear matajis putting all tilakas. But now since 2-3 years, I hear from my wife.
Is it that traditionally all devotee matajis were putting 13 tilakas? What is Srila Prabhupad's and Guru Maharaj's instruction in this regard? In 'Beginner's Guide to Krishna Consciousness' it is not mentioned whether matajis should also put all 13 tilakas.^ Show less
