Question:

I have a doubt about usage of making films in Krishna conscious preaching. I have a desire to become a nice filmmaker and make some good films to entertain and enlighten people. But after knowing philosophy of Krishna consciousness, I am in a great confusion of how to live my rest of life. So can you please kindly clear my doubt.

Can a devotee learn to produce films or animation techniques and try to preach through media by making films like Ramayana, Mahabharata etc. in large scale productions, making nice devotional documentaries, biographies of elevated devotees? or doing such thing is just sense gratification for achieving my personal goal?

Question:

There are many opinions and philosophical interpretations within Vaishnava society. What is the Vaishnava process of resolution of these conflicts? Should there be (i) a majoritarian democratic process involving the entire Vaishnava congregation, (ii) literal textual authoritarianism with strict enforcement and excommunication procedures, (iii) hegemony of those who have attained institutional positions due to experience and merit, (iv) a legal and philosophical disputation process, in which all sides submit their positions and the judgment is made by a body of judges appointed through consensus, (v) an internal dialogue process based on argumentation and compromises that makes everyone least upset, or (vi) let each faction thrive and only if the harmony is disturbed, punitive action be taken against the culprit?

Can Devotees Worship Ganesa?

August 30, 2016 |

Question: One should begin the worship of the demigod Ganapati, who drives away all impediments in the execution of devotional service. In the Brahma-samhita it is stated that Ganapati worships the lotus feet of Lord Nrsimha-deva and in that way has become auspicious for the devotees in clearing out all impediments. Therefore, all devotees should worship Ganapati. Thus my neighbours placed Ganesha next to Nrsimhadeva on the altar. Other devotees cite Srila Prabhupada letters in which he says that there's no need to worship Ganesha. So what is the proper understanding?… Expand>

Question:

I saw a murti of Ganesh on the altar next to Nrsimhadeva at a neighbours' place. There was an argument between devotees. Some say that in Srila Prabhupada's Nectar of Devotion it is said in Chapter 8, One should begin the worship of the demigod Ganapati, who drives away all impediments in the execution of devotional service. So what is the proper understanding?
