Question:

How do we really make a distinction between nitya siddha and sadhana siddha jivas?

Despite them being two different by definition obviously, their pastimes on the earth, their qualities and potency, is there any difference, are those things the same?

Could you say, those who are Sadhana Siddha do not exercise/expose as much spiritual potency as Nitya Siddha jivas, or that sadhana siddhas do not have as much extent of spiritual influence?

Generally, Prabhupada has said the previous acharyas (Bhaktisiddhanta, Bhaktivinode) are Nitya Siddha, therefore, is it correct to deduce only those who are acharyas are nitya, and everyone else is sadhana siddha?

Sometimes, with an acharya we know is nitya siddha, Bhaktvinode Thakur for example, it may appear he was formerly materialistic then by Sadhana became Siddha, Prabhupada has stated otherwise so we accept that as the truth, therefore it is difficult to distinguish between the two, as even if they are actually sadhana siddha they have pastimes appearing as if they were worldly.

Partnership Among Vaisnava Sampradayas

June 26, 2011 |

Gaura Keshava Prabhu (a disciple of Prabhupada, who has a home at Sri Rangam) mentioned to me: "Before coming to the West, he (Srila Prabhupada) wrote to Visvambhara Goswami(his friend, Radha Ramana Temple Goswami and former Vrndavan mayor) that he wanted to start an organization wherein Vaisnavas from all sampradayas could cooperate to push on Krsna consciousness.Of course ultimately ISKCON was born out of this desire. We do not know exactly how inclusive or exclusive of other types of Vaisnavas and their philosophies and traditions ISKCON will eventual become."

I wanted to know if you envisage any form of strategic partnership among all the Vaisnava sampradayas, since at present, we just have issue-specific or individual-level contacts.

Question:

There are many opinions and philosophical interpretations within Vaishnava society. What is the Vaishnava process of resolution of these conflicts? Should there be (i) a majoritarian democratic process involving the entire Vaishnava congregation, (ii) literal textual authoritarianism with strict enforcement and excommunication procedures, (iii) hegemony of those who have attained institutional positions due to experience and merit, (iv) a legal and philosophical disputation process, in which all sides submit their positions and the judgment is made by a body of judges appointed through consensus, (v) an internal dialogue process based on argumentation and compromises that makes everyone least upset, or (vi) let each faction thrive and only if the harmony is disturbed, punitive action be taken against the culprit?
