Question: I listened to your lecture tonight and It was very nice. I liked it. But at a point you said "Parents are busy giving 'So called Higher Education' to their children. I do not agree with it. I feel education is very important. Most of the Devotee's in ISKCON are from institutions like MIT,IIT etc… According to me the education plays a important role in understanding the spiritual science. Please make me understand this point.

It has been at least three years since I was last in India and in Mayapura, you kindly bestowed upon me some of your books as a wonderful gift. I think I was asking you if any of your books were in a PC file format, like the Ramayana but they were not so you gave me the books.
Here is my question….
What are the points that you would specifically make to a group of 14-15 year old boys, from a private school here, in Toronto, who have volunatrily chosen to take a course on Encountering World Religions?
The professor visited our temple with other adults, studying the Hare Krsna movement in a course, and he loved being encouraged to do the "Swami step" while chanting the Hare Krsna mantra, so he is very open.
The professor is genuinely concerned that these boys will soon grow up and be unleashed into today's society and will not be fully equipped as men to deal with what's out there .
I asked him about the school, and he said it's theme this year is "moral courage". He told me the Mission of Crescent Academy" is respect, responsibility, honesty and passion.
One thing I was thinking of doing is discussing in brief about the traditional Gurukula, as brahmacari life is described in the 7th Canto, how spiritual values USED to be at the core of an Education, but how this has been lost due to rampant materialism, and this is why the world is in so much chaos today.
I thought I could ask the boys what their definitions are of the school theme and mission, and then would go into more depth. You might have a totally differnt apporach to speaking to a classroom of keen 14-15 yr old boys and I welcome this. Please share your thoughts with me, and I will share them with the students !^ Show less

Question: One who acquires spiritual knowledge and engages in devotional service gradually loses interest in material endeavors, including cultivation of mundane education. What should a student do if he or she does not want to continue with current career prospects, but at the same time, wants to make scholarly and socially-relevant contributions in bhakti?

While preaching I have come across several persons who doubt the cycle of birth and death and when the point comes up about having to go through millions of births in the animal realm, (or any realm for that matter) before coming back to the human platform, I often hear; "Well I was born in this human body and don’t remember my other births, so if this same chance will happen again someday what is the urgency of this human birth?
So basically they are saying they do not remember the suffering of other lives, yet all of a sudden they were born in this human form where things are pretty nice, and they are wondering, what need is there to change. What does it matter if they take so many animal births as long as they don’t remember, since one day they will just be back in a human form again?
So I am wondering how to defeat this argument.^ Show less

Question: Srila Prabhupada often mentions in his lectures that his mission would be complete if he could make one pure devotee. Is this statement used out of humility by Srila Prabhupada? What is the definition of a pure devotee? Does it mean that there is no pure devotee in ISKCON? Please can you kindly throw some more insights on this topic.
