Shall I Allow Muslims to Stay at the Next Door?

May 6, 2011 |

Question: What is our responsibilities to our dharma, our society, our country and our own self? Can we (being a member of ISKCON) allow any other dharma person (say muslim) to live nearby us, as our neighbor, in our property, only because of money he pays? And importance only given to the MONEY? And forget the responsibility to our surroundings, and other neighbours?

Is Everything Predecided?

November 28, 2011 |

Question: Krishna says in Bhagavad-gita that He knows past, present, and future. If everything is predecided then why we should try to get Krishna. Question:

Krishna says in Bhagavad-gita that He knows past, present, and future. If everything is predecided then why we should try to get Krishna. In other words, if everything is already predecided then what is the point of trying to become Krishna conscious. When my time will come, then I will automatically become Krishna conscious. Before that, even if I would try still I can't become Krishna conscious because everything is already predecided, like Ramayana is written before Lord Rama descended. Please clarify my doubt.

Do Devotees Get Influenced by the Three Modes of Material Nature?

May 1, 2016 |

Question: Do devotees get influenced by the three modes of material nature?… Expand>

Question:

Do devotees get influenced by the three modes of material nature?

ANSWER by HH Bhakti Vikāsa Swami:

“Do devotees get influenced by the three material modes of nature? Well, do you? You are a devotee. Do you get influenced?
Sometimes. You are doing better than most of us.

māṁ ca yo 'vyabhicāreṇa
bhakti-yogena sevate
sa guṇān samatītyaitān
brahma-bhūyāya kalpate

Kṛṣṇa says: “One who engages in unflinching, unalloyed … ”
What’s the word Prabhupāda uses?

“Undistracted devotional service to Me transcends the modes of material nature, becomes completely fixed on the transcendental platform.” Unalloyed. “One who engages in My unalloyed devotional service.” (BG 14.26)

So, yeah. We are also influenced by the modes of material nature, but we should practise Kṛṣṇa consciousness very seriously and then gradually we will become free from that influence.”
