Question: It looks like punishments inflicted on living entities as per Srimad Bahagavatam, fifth Canto, chapter 26 are cruel, unusual & disproportionate punishment. Since God is the creator of this system (aham sarvasya prabhavah), is he to be blamed. Even so called mlecchas' law (English Bill of Rights, US Constitution) have laws against cruel and unusual punishment. So is the human law apparently superior(less cruel) to GOD's law.

Question:

For a very long time, I have felt very nervous about joining devotees on Harinama or book distribution. Honestly, I feel a bit embarrassed at the thought of my friends seeing me with devotees, or seeing me distributing books or seeing me in a Tilaka etc. I am worried people will think this guy is a nut or a fool! I am worried they will judge me and I will lose my so-called social standing.

Right from my childhood, I have been a very shy and lonely person and I am always easily embarrassed. I grew up with severe inferiority complex in my childhood. Both my parents were completely uneducated, not respected, not well off etc. They passed that over to me. That low self esteem has stayed with me. Hence I am very scared and nervous of doing anything public.

Maharaja, I am very much worried that this nature of mine will interfere with my future service to you. How do I fix this issue? I really really want to make progress and I will follow any order you give me here to correct this situation.

Question:

Recently one congregation devotee asked me "I am having some material problem for a long time and my father suggested/forced me to show to an astrologer who suggested me to worship some demigod and my problems will be solved. He gave 100% guarantee. This will cost Rs.35,000 but if result is not there he will return all money". So his father is forcing him but he doesn't want to take shelter of someone else than Krsna. But he asked me "when a devotee becomes sick he also goes to see doctor which is like taking shelter of a demigod for curing some material problem. So why this is allowed while demigod worship for solving material problems is not? What is the difference? In Ayurveda also worship of demigods is sometimes recommended to cure some disease. It seems logical that we worship demigods to solve material problems that are posing hindrance in our service to Krsna".

So I request Your Holiness to reveal answer to this.

If Every Devotee is Satisfied in Their Level of Service, Why Does Laksmi Desire to Join in the Rasa-lila?

Question:

If every devotee is satisfied in their level of service, why does Laksmi desire to join in the rasa-lila?

Answer by HH Bhakti Vikāśa Swami:

Well, maybe that’s an exception. But that’s the general rule.
But, then She couldn’t neither, because She is Lakṣmī.
It is not that She is dissatisfied to serve Lord Nārāyaṇa.

But, seeing the ecstasy of the gopīs, how they are serving Kṛṣṇa, then She also desired that.
But, it is not that She is dissatisfied. She is very happy to serve Lord Nārāyaṇa.
