I have a small doubt can you just elucidate me what is the meaning of pure heart. What is inner soul and from where do we get real happiness?
Answer by HH Bhakti Vikāsa Swami:
The meaning of a pure heart is one which is not covered by contamination. The nature of the soul is pure, but we come in contact with material energy due to our wrong desire to enjoy separately from Kṛṣṇa. Therefore we become… Yeah, that desire, that original desire (kāma), from that comes kāma, krodha, lobha, moha, mada, mātsarya – lust, anger, greed, pride, illusion, envy. These are various coverings on the soul. When these are removed, the soul is stated to be in a pure state, although by nature the soul is pure. So, when you say the inner soul, that means the soul not covered by these contaminations. Where do we get real happiness? Real happiness is Kṛṣṇa. So, in the pure state we can appreciate Kṛṣṇa. Real happiness is in Kṛṣṇa consciousness.^ Show less

During the Sri Sri Gurvastaka Meditation. Should we meditate on our Guru or on Srila Prabhupada?
Answer by HH Bhakti Vikasa Swami:
Gurv-aṣṭaka meditation. Should we meditate on our guru or on Śrīla Prabhupāda?
You can meditate on both, as suitable. Yeah, as suitable means that not everything may be applicable to your own guru. Śrīla Prabhupāda said that this Gurv-aṣṭaka, it doesn’t apply to all gurus. At least the part of verses five and six specifically refer to those who in their form as a gopī assisting the… Well, especially number six applies to a gopī who is engaged in the direct service of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa. Therefore I say you can meditate as is suitable. Not everything may be applicable.

Question: What is the status of books written by sannyasis who have either fallen since writing them, or else left ISKCON? I'm thinking in particular of Harikesa Swami's "Varnasrama Manifesto for Social Sanity," or the books of Bhaktipada Maharaj. Is it still acceptable to take guidance from them?

Question: We hear that Srila Prabhupada's books contain everything that we need to know. How does this apply to 11th and 12th Cantos, that are part of Prabhupada's Bhagavatam, but not directly translated and commentated upon by him?
