An Appeal

Dear Prabhus,
Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

I have much work to do in writing. Srila Prabhupada’s books are the lawbooks, and everything we need to know to become fully Krishna conscious is in his books. Nevertheless, Srila Prabhupada wanted his disciples to write also. He once said that, “My disciples will write commentaries on my purports.” And, “All the Vaisnava literatures should be translated into English and distributed all over the world.”

Somehow or other Krishna is inspiring me in this service. I have already published several books and magazine articles. The books I have already produced are:

  • Brahmacarya in Krishna Consciousness
  • A Beginner’s Guide to Krishna Consciousness
  • A Message to the Youth of India
  • Vamsidasa Babaji
  • Jaya Srila Prabhupada!
  • The Story of Rasikananda
  • My Memories of Srila Prabhupada
  • Glimpses of Traditional Indian Life
  • Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu
  • Vaisnava Shikha O Sadhana (Bengali)
  • Gaudiya Vaishnava Padyavali (Bengali)

I have also overseen the production of an English edition of Ramayana.

My books have been translated in fifteen languages. Many devotees and members of the public have expressed appreciation of my writing, and I feel encouraged to continue.

New titles under preparation are: (in probable order of publication):

  • Lion Guru (about Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura)
  • Vaisnava Etiquette, Culture and Behavior
  • A Meaningful Glance (Examples from Nyaya-sastra)

Many other books are planned, such as “Answering the Atheists,” “The Mood and Mission of Srila Prabhupada,” and “Family Life in Krishna Consciousness.” I am also eager to get writings translated from Indian languages, especially the works of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura.

But how much can I do alone? Writing is difficult, and takes much time. I also have commitments to many people in many places. Traveling and preaching is intrinsic to sannyasa life, and I cannot give it up.

But my heart is burning with the desire to produce more books. It may sound puffed-up, but I feel they will be important contributions to the ongoing respiritualization of human society.

Therefore I constantly go on writing. But I need help, so as to produce more, and faster.

I’m looking for editors, writers and researchers, preferably to live with me in India so we can regularly interact. I’m also looking for translators from Sanskrit, Bengali, Hindi and other Indian languages.

I also very much need a manager: someone to coordinate all this work, and oversee the publication and dispersion of my books.

Funds are also required. So are distributors for my books in different parts of the world.

If you think you could help, please get in touch with me using the contact us page.

Training can be given to those who are capable but inexperienced.

Dasanudasa,
Bhakti Vikasa Swami
