Interesting lecture you gave about your concerns for ISKCON, it would be deemed controversial if you have vested interests in the subject matter of Midday Foods and human welfare in general, however from the perspective of suddha-bhakti and His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada what you said was concise to the point and unfortunately for the devotees that perform these activities very much in line with the conclusion of our guru-parampara.
Your example of Srila Prabhupada’s lila in the Science of Self Realization was a perfect one. It dug deep into my sub-consciousness (and as you explained Srila Prabhupada's action of declining to make a collection and explaining that you must perform sankirtan and devotional service to relieve all material and spiritual distress) my mind remembered it again before you said the words and I read the Science of Realization about 15 years ago!!
I questioned this very lila as to why Srila Prabhupada would decline to give charity and offer sankirtan as the only solution. At the time I thought it was amazing!! It was definitely a higher way of looking at life and one that must be embraced to move forward in Krsna Consciousness. As it cuts through the bodily conception of life and brings you closer to the transcendental reality of surrendering to Krsna lotus feet.
This was a very real and practical solution, however this is a standard understanding that we as devotees should always have and is based upon multiple scriptural conclusions.
It is a sad day if you are reprimanded for helping devotees remember the truth.
Your book Sri Bhaktisiddhanta Vaibhava is continuing to help me remember Krsna. One of my main trains of thoughts is that as devotees we get proud of being more elevated than a karmi, however what is our position when we are associating and serving a suddha-bhakta? How would they view our Krsna Consciousness? Are we able to meet their standards? This has given me much space to begin to aspire for performing purer devotional service and chanting.
However I am a long way from this as but it has inspired me to discover how to improve.
Do you have any suggestions which could guide me on this journey? Any lilas to meditate on? Some quotes from sastra to absorb more deeply?
Praying that you continue to inspire devotees to purify their Krsna Consciousness to aspire for Suddha-Bhakti and Radha-Krishna continue to shower you with blessings.
