A challenging question: "If you say you have full knowledge, then how many windows are in the Empire State Building?"
Prabhupada challenged back, "How many drops of water are in a mirage?"
Srila Prabhupada said:
Similarly, when you remain fully surrendered to the supreme will, either in distress or in happiness, that is your happiness. That is real happiness. This condition cannot be without love. In any condition, you remain surrendered. It cannot be done without love.
(For the upcoming Radha Govinda Jhulana Yatra and Srila Rupa Gosvami's Disappearance Anniversary)
Rupa Gosvami has written the following verse: "My dear friend, if you still have any desire to enjoy the company of your friends within this material world, then don't look upon the form of Krsna, who is standing on the bank of Kesi-ghata [a bathing place in Vrndavana].
Politics are always there, and enviousness, jealousy. This is the nature of this material world. You cannot avoid it. Spiritual world means just the opposite. There is no politics. There is no jealousy. There is no enviousness. That is spiritual world. And material world means politics, jealousy, diplomacy, enviousness, so many things.
We should learn how to do good to the people in general. They have forgotten their relationship with God. You should be sympathetic for them. That they're suffering on account of their forgetfulness of God, let us do some service to them. Awaken them. Awaken their Krsna consciousness. That is Krsna consciousness movement.

There is a saying, gopayet matr-jara-vat: "One should keep prema hidden, as one would conceal that one's mother has a paramour."
One time I heard you [Srila Prabhupada] say -- it was as if you were issuing a challenge -- "Where is the proof that you love Krsna? If you love Krsna, you will follow his orders!"
We cannot control the force of our anger. Therefore when we look at material things, we cannot avoid feeling attraction or repulsion for them. But the Supreme Lord is never affected in this way. Although He glances over the material world for the purpose of creating, maintaining and destroying it, He is not affected, even to the slightest degree.
There are two verses in the Canakya-sloka how a family or an institution can be glorified or burned into ashes by one person. The Canakya Pandit says that if there is one tree in the forest producing nice aromatic flower, that one tree can glorify the whole forest by the flavor of its flower.
...we also must know what actual mercy is. To give a sick man something forbidden for him to eat is not mercy. Rather, it is cruelty. Unless we know what mercy really is, we may create an undesirable situation.
