This kind of writing that convinces people to the point of taking some action is very special. I know because I have done a lot of writing . . . to write letters to people to convince them to donate for some particular cause. And it’s very, very difficult — to have someone to just read the letter and then sit down and write out a check, because people are miserly, generally. But here Prabhupada is writing in such a way that people read his writing and they are prepared to change their whole lives. That’s powerful writing. There were so many editions of Bhagavad-gita before Srila Prabhupada, but nobody was convinced to change their lives and become actual devotees of Krsna.
